We are pleased to announce that Marques Hanalei Marzan will be our speaker for the 76th Annual Hawaii Jewelers Association Banquet on Saturday, October 11! Marques is an accomplished Hawaiian cultural practitioner and fiber artist, and also works a day job as the Cultural Curator at the Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum. He recently added a new credential to his CV as one of the cultural advisers on Apple TV & Jason Momoa's Chief Of War.
Marques will be bringing his vast knowledge of Hawaiian and Oceanic art to us, discussing Hawaiian jewelry from pre-contact times to the Victorian era and beyond.
Tickets to the banquet are available for sale on the HJA website; members and non-members are welcome to attend but only members are able to submit entries in the HJA jewelry design competition.
